Yosemite National Park

The town of El Portal, on the winding road leading up to Yosemite Park. It started out as a gold mining town.	View from my hotel room, which was just outside Yosemite Park and by the Merced River.

View of El Capitan, which rises about 3,000 feet above the valley floor. Dozens of climbers were on its face.	View of Mirror Lake, which is dry this time of year. I hiked 5 miles up and 5 miles down.
